The portrait of Eni, as featured in this Sustainability Report, takes the form of a comparison between the policies adopted by the Company in order to build sustainable development and the complexity not only of energy world, but of the modern world in its entirety.

A positive vision emerges: a Company underpinned by a solid business culture can tackle a crisis and emerge with more strength and with a clearer perspective. There is conirmation that the policies underlying the Company strategy have been validated: making people the focus, making sure they are safe whatever their job, in any part of the world. Eni's experience proves that it is possible to establish models of cooperation with the producer Countries that can create development through long-term agreements, build networks that contribute to Europe's energy security and invest in innovation starting from an appreciation of different cultures and diversity.

Research into the energy of the future remains at the center of the Company's strategy and will make it possible to resort to more and more dificult conventional resources, set conditions for using renewable sources and create a less carbon-intensive world. Eni's commitment in this area is the central focus of a new publication, entitled the Eni Technology Report, which from this year accompanies the Sustainability Report.
